Scarlet runner beans, nasturtium and cucumbers. Planting legumes with cukes has been a winning combination for us. They root at different depths, so they don't compete with each other. Plus, the beans fix nitrogen into the soil, which benefits the cukes. Nasturtiums draw aphids away from the other two -- and taste like pepper.

Unfortunately, nothing draws Mexican bean beetles away...
