As a child, I loved playing hide-and-seek.
I was rarely “it”.
In choosing my hiding spots, I was slightly more creative than the other "hiders", not to mention the "seeker". Being hidden in the shadows, or even --quite literally-- directly in front of the person trying to find me actually made it more difficult for him/her to do so.
As an adult, my life is an "open book". I not only “blog” about it on a daily basis, but if ever one wants to know anything about me, all one need do is ask. You, the reader, might not always like the answers I give, but that’s your predicament – not mine.
Apparently, the frank and obvious manner in which I present certain details of my personal life hasn’t prevented certain parties from trying to play "hide-and-seek" with me, even today.
Unfortunately for said parties -- and contrary to my own expectations -- I'm actually in a better position as the “seeker”! Finding someone’s so-called “hiding places” isn’t really that difficult when he stamps around with the finesse of an elephant!
So here’s the "scoop" for you, my readers:
I have attracted a stalker. It began innocuously enough: seeing the same car drive by my house, parked in the area in which I live, or making u-turns when the driver saw me coming.
Then it progressed to a higher level. He managed to contact my ex-husband, not only through a letter delivered to his place of employment, but also through multiple emails. This was his premise/pretext: He "thought” he might be able to divulge some deep, dark secret about my involvement with the sweetest, most adorable, talented, cyclothymic and daunting “swearblogger” I know.
I suppose this person hoped he could contribute some discomfort to my life, or perhaps even succeed in destabilizing -- maybe even destroying -- our relationship through the presumed tension he was creating.
He has since attempted another escalation of sorts. The notion that perhaps he hasn’t read enough of my site -- or Green Hell’s for that matter -- to draw sounder conclusions occurs to me.
This “man” (omitting the word I would really like to use) has attempted to contact everyone except Jeff and me.
Or perhaps he has, but in an underhanded way. No matter -- neither of us is known for restraint, and when we bitch, we bitch loudly and publicly, after all.
Not so my stalker.
Perhaps he has read a great deal, and I’m not giving him credit where credit is due, but for the most part, his actions have been sloppy at best. Regardless, I’ll extend the invitation to comment on either of our sites. There are email links on both, and this facilitates sending any comments directly to us.
For some reason, a line from one of my favorite movies come to mind:
“Kahn, you bloodsucker. You’re gonna have to do your own dirty work now, do you hear me? Do you?... Still, you’ve managed to kill everyone else, but like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target.”
~ The Wrath of Kahn
Here is the letter he sent to my ex:
“If you would like to know what [Maggie] has been up to, then I have some information for you. If you interested – then leave an email at Naitsirc12@aol.com, and I’ll reply soon.

P.S. don’t tell Maggie about this.”
Then it’s signed, “SH".
After the reply was made, he merely gave the URL for my website, and mentioned reading up on my current state of affairs. Unfortunately for him, the existence of my website was already common knowledge. His letter then found its way into my hands, and those of the local police.
Since half of my readers know my “significant other” very well and the other half know me pretty well, maybe some of them would like to send their own personal “howdys” to the man.
There’s no other reason for my response, I think this blog pretty much covers it. I’ll just sit back and derive some amusement from the "ride".
